Grinding Steel Balls: Basic Performance and Applications

Chengxin's grinding steel balls are an essential grinding material in the mineral processing field. Parameters of Grinding Steel Balls

The performance parameters of grinding steel balls include indicators such as diameter, hardness, and chemical composition. In terms of diameter, the common specifications range from Φ10mm to Φ150mm, with different diameters of grinding steel balls suited to different production scenarios. In terms of hardness, the Rockwell hardness scale is generally used to measure it (sometimes the Leeb and Brinell scales are used internationally), typically ranging from HRC50 to HRC65. Grinding steel balls with higher hardness usually exhibit better wear resistance and compression strength.  Chengxin's high-chromium cast steel balls have a hardness greater than 60HRC, with a hardness difference between the surface and the core of less than 1HRC. Regarding chemical composition, it mainly includes carbon content, chromium content, manganese content, etc., and different chemical compositions can affect the performance and lifespan of the grinding steel balls. Chengxin was the first in China to introduce energy-saving grinding balls, which, through the addition of special alloy components, significantly outperform similar products in terms of quality.

Specific Applications of Grinding Steel Balls

Firstly, in industries such as mining and cement, grinding steel balls are primarily used in grinding and crushing processes, where they grind materials like ores and cement into the desired powder through friction and impact. Different specifications of grinding steel balls can be selected based on the requirements of the production process and equipment to ensure that the materials, such as ores and cement, are effectively ground and processed.

Secondly, in industries such as chemicals and power generation, grinding steel balls also play a crucial role. In chemical production, grinding steel balls are commonly used in stirring, grinding, and other processes involving particulate materials. Different specifications of grinding steel balls can be chosen based on the properties of the materials and the process requirements to ensure the smooth operation of mixing, grinding, and other processes. In power generation, grinding steel balls are typically used in coal grinding systems, where different specifications can be selected according to the particle size requirements of the coal powder and the equipment requirements of the coal mills to improve the grinding efficiency and combustion efficiency of the coal powder.
